Our Services
Equipment & Home Safety
We work hand-in-hand with you and your care team to determine tailored equipment solutions that not only increase safety but also resonate with your values and aspirations. Our ultimate goal is to foster long-term autonomy, empowering you to regain control and independence in your daily life.
Whats the process?
Key Components
Home Safety & Accessibility
Navigating daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, involve balance, strength, problem-solving, and proprioception. Our occupational therapists prioritize a personalized approach, thoroughly evaluating your abilities and assessing your environment. Collaboratively, we will identify solutions that not only enhance safety, but also align with your values and goals, ultimately achieving long-term autonomy.
Wheelchair Assessment
At the core of our occupational therapy assessments is a dialogue that goes beyond your physical circumstances. We aim for a thorough evaluation that dives into your motivation. Our objective is to provide you with wheelchair and seating options that suite your lifestyle and environment. We collaborate with you, your caregivers, and equipment suppliers, to ensure a personalized selection.
Scooters & Power Mobility
In certain situations, a power wheelchair or mobility scooter becomes essential when a manual wheelchair falls short of supporting independence at home and in the community. Our occupational therapists will assess your physical and cognitive abilities to ensure safety, fit, and function.
Equipment Assessments for Veterans
Anew Rehab works with Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) to support veterans in accessing equipment and home adaptations that promote safety, independence, and participation in everyday life.
Our occupational therapists provide functional assessments, equipment recommendations, and clinical documentation to support VAC funding consideration.
Assessments may include mobility aids, wheelchairs, bathroom safety equipment, adaptive devices, and home accessibility modifications.
We work collaboratively with veterans, their families, equipment suppliers, and VAC case managers to identify practical solutions that meet individual needs.
Services are available to eligible veterans with appropriate VAC authorization.
We understand the importance of having the right equipment to support your safety and independence.
If you're a veteran and unsure whether you're eligible for occupational therapy services through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), we're happy to help you understand the referral process and next steps.
