Rain van der Kamp
Occupational Therapist & Clinical Manager
Originally from Saskatchewan, Rain holds master’s degrees in both Occupational Therapy and Kinesiology. They draw on this strong academic foundation and their own lived experiences of broken bones and post-traumatic stress to provide evidence-based, collaborative therapy that helps clients explore how they spend their time and energy, and the meaning behind their daily activities.
Rain has supported clients across diverse settings, from remote communities in Nunavut to urban supported-housing in Vancouver. These experiences have deepened their understanding of how social, environmental, and systemic factors shape the way people live, heal, and find purpose.
As a clinical leader, Rain has guided interdisciplinary teams through complex healthcare initiatives, including leading allied health professionals during a start-up project in Vancouver supporting individuals transitioning from long-term care into supported housing. They’ve designed staff training programs, created interdisciplinary care systems, and led culture-change initiatives that strengthened collaboration, safety, and quality of care.
Guided by curiosity, empathy, and courage, Rain approaches each interaction, whether with clients, teams, or systems, as an opportunity for growth and meaningful change.
Outside of work, Rain enjoys running, training their dogs, drawing, playing strategy board games, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Rain provides occupational therapy services in Nanaimo and Comox Valley Regions.
